Communicating with the media and the public

From visibility to networking, from fun to personal reward, communication with non-experts brings several advantages, at the personal, career and institutional levels. However, it may be challenging. This course will help participants understand what is the public perception of science, how to better engage non-experts in research topics and how the media works. Through a combination of frontal lectures and practical activities attendees will learn how to select their key messages and how to convey them effectively when interacting with the media or the lay public.
